Question to those losing/trying to lose weight?

Hi everyone! Looking for some answers (1) Approx how many lbs do you lose each week? (2) Do u follow a special diet of your own, or a common popular diet plan? And can you give details? (3) How many minutes do u exercise each day? Thanks!
1. It will depend on your starter weight. 2. go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7 p.m. I know a woman who lost 60 pounds a month on it. She did nothing else! 3. If you do not have time – do 15- 20 min daily, it’s better than 3 hours once a week. Or start brisk walking to/from work, I walk about 1-2 hours a day.

(I had put this answer to some other question, but i think it is relevant here too.)
1. Food Restriction: if you are an average height adult, restrict your diet to 1500 Cal. You don’t have to eat only non-fatty food, just avoid satruated and trans-fat. Eating foods without fat will make you hungry all the time. Eating foods with fat gives you satiety.
2. Do some exercise to burn out about 500 Cal/day. Walking is good. but slow walking for 30 min is insufficient. Do a jogging for 30 min or brisk walk for 40-50 min. or even aerobics. Just stretch all the muscles, and that is the best kind of exercise. To me, it is better than lifting weight.
The calculation is simple. If you burt 9 Cal (with big C), you burn 1 gm of of fat. So if you burn 500 Cal, you burn about 55 gm of fat in a day. That comes to about 1 pound/week. And that is a very good rate of weight loss. if you are obese (BMI>30), the rate could go more. Don’t believe on "The biggest loser" and stuff. Your body contains about 60% of water, and if you are losing a lot of weight per week, then either your "metabolic rate" is very high, or you are probably simply losing water, which you will regain eventually.
The key is, keep your input of calories low (average req. is 2000 per day, so keep 1500 if you can). Get a balanced diet. Do exercise (walking is very good, jogging is better), as it not only burns your fat, it makes your "Basal Metabolic Rate" higher, which is good for losing weight. and keep a check on your "BMI(body mass index)".
and you can google for better understanding of the terms inside quotes.

Hi. I just started to try and lose some weight. I have just been counting calories, trying to eat about 1500 a day. I don’t exercise. I lost 7 pounds my first week, and now I am on my second week, so I don’t know how much I will lose after that.

Hey,
1) I lose about 1-2lbs a week, but sometimes there’s no change and others I lose 4lbs a week, and I can’t seem to find a reason for it!!
2) I mainly following the Slimming World Food Optimising plan, but I openly admit I sometimes drift off track!
3) I don’t tend to exercise each day (I’m far too lazy!) but I try to walk for half an hour 1-2 times a week and I have an elliptical trainer I use 2-3 times a week for 15 mins a time.
Hope this helps

I think it’s healthy to lose about 1kg a week (1-3lbs)
It’s best not to think of it as dieting as that’s a temporary thing. Think of it as a permanent lifestyle change. Just eat healthy food and stop when you are 3/4 full, give your body time to feel full.
Exercising about 30mins a day should do it. A little more wont do any harm. But don’t overdo it, you don’t want to injure yourself and you want to be able to sustain it.

Personally, i dont go by the scale… i just go by how i look and feel. The ony diet that i follow is to just cut back on the fatty foods and try to eat foods with a lot of protein. Also, i go to the gym everyday or every other day. Each day i switch up my routine. Work on arms and back one day, then legs the next, but everyday i do about at least 30 minutes of abs. It really helps.

I follow my own diet. I simply am very careful about what I eat, whereas before, I’d put anything in my mouth with no second thought about what it was doing to my weight. I eat what I want, but it’s controlled. Why eat a doughnut when I can eat plain oatmeal for breakfast & splurge a little on dinner? For me it’s all about making smart choices instead of compulsive ones.
I do a cardio workout for 45 minutes 4 times a week. I do light toning with weights1-2 times a week.
